Susan Mackley

Church Council Secretary

My name is Susan Mackley, I am currently a member of Church Council and hold the position of Secretary. I recently retired from full time work after working for several Not-for-Profit organisations, such as Anglicare, holding the position of Senior Case Manager and Assistant Manager with the Anglican Women’s Hostel in New Farm, assisting women at risk of homelessness. I also worked for Alzheimer’s Australia (Qld) for many years coordinating the “Living with Memory Loss” programs and conducting support programs for persons with a diagnosis, their family and friends in various areas of Queensland. As a recent retiree I still have the passion to work with others, currently I undertake volunteer work with Dementia Australia (formerly Alzheimer’s Australia Qld) assisting with the “Come Dance with Me” program and P.A.C.T. (Protect all Children Today) as a Child Witness Support Volunteer.

Circumstances over the past couple of years led to my involvement at Beenleigh Region Uniting Church, here I have experienced Gods love, as sisters and brothers in Christ reached out to me in love. I feel called to assist where I can, I believe that with God’s spirit I can contribute to his service not only at B.R.U.C. but also in the wider community.
